November Meeting Announcement – 2025

This Thursday (the 20th) we will be holding our November meeting at Pioneer Technology Center in Ponca City at 7pm.  As you will notice, we moved it up a week due to Thanksgiving.  Our speaker will be Cody Anderson, pastor of Faith Center in Meno, OK.  He will be talking about biblical principles for deciding who to vote for.  I heard him at a Constitution Conference held at his church last month, and I’m really excited that he will be able to come share with us at our meeting.  Last year he ran for state Senate and before that he served on his local school board.  He can share his view from being a pastor, voter and even as a candidate.  Since Pioneer Tech has lots of other meetings going on that night, we will be meeting on the other side of the room that we normally meet in: the west side of the seminar center.

This being November, we want to say “Thank you!” to all our Veterans.  We are very grateful for you and the sacrifices that you have made for the freedoms that we still enjoy.

We did have a float in the Ponca City Veteran’s Day Parade and a booth at the park afterwards.  It was really nice weather and quite a long parade.  Joe worked to get a large American Flag displayed over Grand Ave for the parade to go under.  Thank you to everyone who participated in our rifle fundraiser!  We ran out of tickets before that day and the drawing was held as the celebration in the park was winding down.  Also, I want to say a big “Thank you” to those of you that came out to help and participated in our float!

Coming up December 1-3 will be the filing for municipal and School Board positions. We need God fearing, truthful men, that hate covetousness (Exodus 18:21) to file for and fill these positions.  In Ponca City, there are two at-large City Commissioner seats up (open to any residents in the city limits) and Ward #1 on the Ponca City School Board.  I believe most of the other cities in Kay County have municipal positions and school board positions that have filing at that same time.  If you or anyone that you know might be able and willing to serve in one of these positions, please contact me ASAP!

If you were able to attend our meeting last month, here is an update on the current DHS case that our speaker talked about: https://open.substack.com/pub/v1sut/p/update-moms-for-liberty-son-medically?utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email

Currently, they are collecting signatures to get State Question 836 on the ballot.  This would replace our primary election with a California style “Jungle Primary” where all the candidates are on the first ballot and only the top two go on to the November ballot – regardless of party.  This would very likely result in two democrats being on the November ballot for many races, since we often have several Republicans that file compared to just two democrats.  If you are approached to sign a petition in support of 836, please “decline to sign” and start letting others know why this is such a bad idea!  https://voteno836.com/

If you are in a position to donate a little to help the State Party stop SQ836, or to help get the state party back on its feet, we would really appreciate that!  You can donate online at: https://okgop.com/donate/ or, just contact me and we can make make arrangements to ensure it gets to them.  Thank you for your consideration!

Next week is the time that we follow the pilgrims’ example and set aside time to thank God for the blessings He has given us this year and those before.  Unlike some who would call it a “day of mourning” we celebrate Thanksgiving and the mighty work of God in bringing about the first Thanksgiving!   I hope you take some time to reflect and be thankful to Him, and… maybe even eat some venison in honor of the pilgrims!

We are not planning to have a meeting in December, so our next meeting after this week will be on January 22nd next year – back on the 4th Thursday.  Please plan to join us as we have Representative Tom Gann scheduled to come speak about Automated License Plate Reader cameras (commonly Flock brand) – the legalities of their use in Oklahoma and how they comply with the 4th Amendment (or don’t).

I hope you are able to join us on Thursday and I look forward to seeing you there!

For Freedom,

Nathan Voelkers
Vice Chairman
Kay County Republican Party
