Vote Tuesday for Truth, Justice, and FREEDOM!!!

Hello Kay County Republicans,

Tuesday is the Primary Election! The Primary is one of our most important elections, because it determines who represents us in the general election and the direction we will go. Please make plans to vote, and vote for candidates who will protect and champion Truth, Justice, and FREEDOM! There will be many races on your ballot, some that you may not have even heard of, or only briefly. I would recommend looking up your sample ballot at the OK Voter Portal (https://okvoterportal.okelections.gov/) so that you know which races you can weigh in on and who all is running. The voter portal will also show your polling location, which a couple have changed since last year.

I would encourage you to vote for the candidates most honest and responsive to the voters. If we only vote for who we think will “win,” we will keep getting the same old unresponsive leadership and representation. We need a change, and that change will only come by voting for the best candidate, not just voting for who will “win.”

The Kay County Committee voted to endorse Jadan Terrazas for Senate District 10 to retire incumbent Senator Coleman.  Check out that press release: here. Jadan has taken the “no lobbyist money” pledge, so he will be able to represent the people and not be beholden to the lobbyists and special interest groups at the Capitol. He has also said he will support new senate leadership – not the current senate leadership that took off several days at the end of the year and then quit two weeks early. That action left many bills from the House side (including several OK2A bills) without even being considered in the Senate.

We also voted to endorse our former County Chairman, Brian Hobbs, for the open House District 38 race. He has been a longstanding defender of our rights both during his time in the military and also in the legislative arena since then.  It would be great having him represent the biggest part of Kay County in the State House.

State Question 832 is another attempt to impose failing California policies on Oklahoma. This would raise the minimum wage in Oklahoma to $15/hour and then tie it to automatically continue rising with a national price index. As Republicans we believe in free markets and limited Government, so this should be a “No” Vote. Additionally, the implications of this will not be beneficial to Oklahomans – especially to those near or at minimum wage – or what will soon be minimum wage. Entry level jobs will be cut, hours will be cut and prices will necessarily rise in response to increased labor costs, shuttering many small businesses.

In the other races, I would also encourage you to look very seriously at the “no lobbyist money” candidates. It is a commitment to serving “We the People” over the special interests and lobbyists. Personally, I have been helping Jadan Terrazas for SD10 and Jake Merrick for Governor, because I believe that they are great candidates running honest campaigns to represent the people. I am also currently planning on voting for JJ Humphrey for Lt. Governor since he has committed to helping get the people’s business through the senate and clean out some of the corruption, which he has already been fighting.

Also, look at the list of OKGOP Certified (okgop.com/Certified) candidates. This is a new program to identify those candidates that have a basic commitment to republican principles by: agreeing with at least 80% of the state party platform, being a registered Republican for the last five years, not donating to any democrat candidates in the last five years, not supporting abortion, and protecting the Second Amendment. For all of the candidates on this list (and some that aren’t) you can review their marked up platform to see what they said they agree and disagree with in the state party platform.

If you want information on the HD37 candidates (Ponca City area) here is a link to the video of when Jeremy Sacket came to our meeting https://youtu.be/LEEbTlbu1Gg?t=3637 and when Spencer Grace came to the last meeting: https://youtu.be/1wN_3m8u4AM?t=5603

For those who are in County Commission District #1, at that same meeting, we also had two of the County Commissioner Candidates: Marion Harris and Dustin Schickram. That part of the video starts here: https://youtu.be/1wN_3m8u4AM?t=4096

Make sure you get out and vote on Tuesday, and do enough research to make it an informed vote for the candidates who will do the best job and work to “secure these rights” for the next 250 years!  Then share your knowledge and get other likeminded friends to join you and we’ll get the best candidates to win!

Samuel Adams said: “Let each citizen remember, at the moment he is offering his vote, that he is not making a present or a compliment to please an individual, but that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society, for which he is accountable; to God and his country.”

Finally, pray for our state and that we would be granted Godly leaders who will seek His face for wisdom and champion the Biblical principles that this republic was founded on and that will restore it again!

For Freedom,

Nathan Voelkers
Vice Chairman
Kay County Republican Party

“Let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers just men who will rule in the fear of God…. [I]f the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted … If [our] government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the Divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the laws.” – Noah Webster
